About My Bonsai Journey
Bonsai is the culmination of the natural artistry of the earth, and man's place along side it. The purpose is not disruption, but harmony. Natural order, without chaos.
I have been interested in bonsai for quite sometime due to my love of nature, art, and Asian culture. In the fall of 2013 I took the plunge and purchased my first tree. Over the winter I read everything I could get my hands on. You Tube provided an endless stream of videos from various bonsai instructors around the world. I attended several lectures at Phipps Conservatory over the winter and began expanding my collection.
In March 2014 I joined the Pittsburgh Bonsai Society, which is one of the oldest bonsai societies in the country. I have met a ton of other experienced enthusiasts, who have all been more then willing to share their knowledge. I continue to expand my collection and hope to absorb more and more knowledge from my own studies as well as fellow society members.
